Spring Hill Cemetery History...

Spring Hill Cemetery became a cemetery in 1861.  As the legend goes a carpet-bagger came to the Chismville area and started causing trouble and eventually picked a fight with a prominent Chismville resident who inturn killed the carpet-bagger.  Then, the carpet-bagger's friends came back to Chismville and killed the prominent resident out of spite, which started the Spring Hill Cemetery, in the Spring Hill valley down Ferguson Valley Road.
